Our trained volunteers follow a client-centered approach that offers callers a safe place to talk about their most personal thoughts and concerns. Volunteers encourage callers to explore their own strengths and solutions through a positive, confidential dialogue.
Our volunteers provide these services in a non-judgmental, confidential and anonymous supportive way to make callers feel comfortable. The volunteers are very empathetic to our callers' various situations and circumstances, and are there to support and empower them.
In addition to emotional support, our volunteers also provide callers with resources in their local area and also other national support and information lines. We also will provide callers that feel they have been exposed to HIV a risk assessment and also information on where to get tested in their local area.
