The Nightline is always looking for caring volunteers living in the San Francisco Bay Area. In return for a one-year commitment, the Nightline offers an opportunity to fight HIV through meaningful, positive, emotional support. Those selected to volunteer will go through San Francisco Suicide Prevention’s comprehensive training that includes active listening and peer counseling methods, as well as HIV prevention, testing and treatment basics, domestic violence, substance abuse and suicidality.
As a volunteer, not only will you provide emotional support to The National AIDS/HIV Nightline callers, but crisis intervention and suicide prevention on the SFSP crisis line, harm reduction and emotional support on the SFSP Drug Information Line and Relapse Line and answer some of our after-hours contract resource lines.
