The callers to the National AIDS/HIV Nightline vary from caregivers and those living with HIV/AIDS to those that are worried about testing and those recently diagnosed. The emotional support we provide these callers is invaluable since The Nightline is open when other support services are closed.
In addition to HIV/AIDS, many callers are also challenged by other psychosocial conditions such as mental illness, substance abuse, isolation, and poverty.
What our callers have told us
"The Nightline is one of the best programs for me. The hotline has been a constant support. I don't know what I would have done without you."
"I'm very happy to be able to talk to someone who understands. This was the first time I told anyone about being HIV+."
"If it wasn't for the Nightline there would be no one to turn to. I wouldn't have made it through the night."
"Your volunteers have helped me, which has helped my brother who is HIV+."
"The Nightline is an important anonymous service which allows the freedom to not be judged."
